Job summary

Oglebay Park in Wheeling, WV seeks a Director of Banquets & Events to plan, supervise, and coordinate the banquet department for optimal performance and guest satisfaction. This role ensures a pristine environment, efficient operations, and profitable functions across all events.

You will lead the banquet team, develop new events, monitor payroll and revenue, and uphold safety and sanitation standards while working with the HR and F&B leaders to recruit and train staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years supervisory food and beverage experience preferred.
• Experience supervising banquet or events operations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the banquet team.
• Ensure cleanliness and atmosphere of meeting spaces and inspect equipment.
• Develop and execute new events and programs.
• Maintain payroll accuracy and daily revenue tracking.
• Ensure high hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Recruit, hire, and train banquet staff.
• Coordinate with Food & Beverage leadership on par levels for supplies/equipment.
• Monitor labor costs and schedule using labor management tools.
• Provide exceptional guest service and resolve issues promptly.
