Job summary

Levain Bakery is hiring a Baker to join our NYC team. This role emphasizes baking high-quality breads, cakes, muffins, and cookies daily, while maintaining strict recipes and procedures. You will lead with care, collaborate with teammates, and ensure timely availability of products for customers.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years baking experience, hold DOH and food handler certifications, and can work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of baking experience.
• Open availability: mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must have valid DOH Certification & additional regional required food handlers certifications.
• Read and communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Bake bread, cakes, muffins, cookies, and other baked goods according to Levain Bakerys recipes and standards.
• Measure, mix, weigh, shape, and prepare various products with proper technique.
• Monitor baking times and temperatures to maintain quality and consistency.
• Manage daily pars to ensure all baked goods meet quality standards and customer demands.
• Follow procedures including weights, measures, health & sanitation, and safety practices.
• Interact with customers occasionally to answer questions about baked goods.
