Job summary

Sanofi in Swiftwater, PA is seeking a Scientist Bacteriology to design, develop, qualify, validate, and interpret functional immunoassays, including serum bactericidal assays (SBA), to characterize immune responses for clinical studies across the vaccine portfolio.

This lab-based role emphasizes hands-on assay work, collaboration with Bacteriology staff, regulatory compliance, and the integration of automation to increase throughput and reproducibility; mentorship of junior scientists is also

Qualifications

Bachelors degree with ≥6 years OR Masters with ≥3 years OR PhD with ≥1 year in related field.
Experience designing, executing and troubleshooting functional immunoassays for bacterial pathogens.
Experience with SBA using HC and BRC.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, qualify, and troubleshoot functional antibody/immunoassays.
Qualify and validate functional serological assays, including SBA using HC and BRC per GMP/GxP guidelines.
Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior scientists and laboratory staff.
Operate within a regulated laboratory environment, ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance.
Support multiple concurrent vaccine development programs.
