About the Role

Culmen International is seeking a Senior Bacterial Core Technician to support a USAMRIID program at Fort Detrick, MD. The role involves supporting laboratory operations, managing biological materials, and performing assays related to vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics targeting bacterial threat agents.

What You'll Do in Your New Role

1. Perform bacterial culture, assay preparation, and specimen handling.
2. Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory.
3. Support GLP-compliant data collection and analysis.
4. Assist in high-containment operations (BSL-2/3).
5. Prepare technical documentation and contribute to SOPs.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, or related field, or an Associate degree with significant laboratory experience.
2. 5+ years of experience in a laboratory research setting.
3. Expertise in laboratory safety and aseptic techniques.
4. Proficiency in biological assay procedures (ELISA, PCR).
5. Experience working in biocontainment environments.
6. Ability to manage sample tracking and recordkeeping.
7. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
