Job summary

Itaú is seeking a skilled backend engineer to develop and maintain Java applications, design RESTful APIs, and contribute to architecture decisions. You’ll work with microservices, event-driven patterns, and cloud-native solutions in cross-functional squads.

The role requires strong Spring Boot expertise, experience with containers, CI/CD, and automated testing. You’ll collaborate on system integrations and performance optimization while adhering to technical standards.

Qualifications

• Solid Java 11+ development experience.
• Advanced Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem knowledge.
• Strong microservices and RESTful API design experience.
• Practical relational and NoSQL database modeling.
• Messaging experience (Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar).
• Solid DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Automated testing experience (JUnit, Mockito).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java.
• Design and implement REST APIs and system integrations.
• Take part in architectural decisions and technical standards.
• Ensure code quality through automated tests and code review.
• Work on event-driven architectures and microservices.
• Support multidisciplinary squads on complex software problems.
• Monitor and continuously optimize application performance.
• Support and build solutions in Cloud Native environments.
