U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced backend software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.

You will build RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures leveraging Kafka and modern data stores (SQL/NoSQL). You will provide technical leadership across the SDLC, implement security and API protections, and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies while embracing DevOps practices with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Five to six years of relevant experience in software development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend development.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices supporting high-volume business applications.
• Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle and DevOps practices.
• Develop with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security and related Java tech.
• Design event-driven architectures using Kafka and other messaging platforms.
• Integrate with relational and NoSQL databases for efficient data access and performance.
• Apply security, authentication, authorization, API security and resiliency practices.
• Create unit and automated tests using JUnit and Mockito to improve quality.
• Support CI/CD, containerization and cloud-native development with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Leverage GenAI coding tools while maintaining responsible development practices.
• Perform code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Identify opportunities to modernize applications and reduce technical debt.
• Provide mentorship and share knowledge to grow the team.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement activities.
• Stay current with backend, cloud, security and AI tooling developments.
