Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building backend services that run in production.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, SW, CE, MIS, or equivalent experience.
• Production experience with Scala or Kotlin; others encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features in the service powering every BigCommerce storefront, collaborating with product managers and partner teams.
• Extend GraphQL Storefront API queries and fields with backward-compatibility for headless storefronts and integrations.
• Evolve storefront service to support AI-driven shopping for carts and checkouts.
• Investigate and fix production issues, improve performance and reliability.
• Review code and pair with senior engineers to improve design and quality.
