Qualifications

• 3+ years of production backend experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/SW/CE/MIS or equivalent.
• Proficient with Scala or Kotlin; Java/Go knowledge welcomed.
• Experience turning requirements into technical designs for production.
• Familiar with HTTP, GraphQL, caching, and inter-service communication.
• Experience debugging using metrics, traces, and logs.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features in the service powering BigCommerce storefronts.
• Extend GraphQL Storefront API queries and fields.
• Help evolve storefront service to enable AI-driven shopping.
• Investigate and fix production issues; improve performance and reliability.
• Review code and participate in design reviews with senior engineers.
