Qualifications

8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
Extensive track record of building highly available distributed systems with AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes.
Experience developing consumer experiences with UI frameworks like React.
2+ years of experience in search or related recommendation engines.
Ability to define technical and execution plans for major features and system components.

Responsibilities

Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon and align with business goals.
Collaborate across product management, design and analytics for sustainable technical decisions.
Champion technical solutions and operational processes as a force-multiplier for the team.
Own team operations, monitoring, incident response, playbooks and on-call readiness.
Define and promote code review standards and architecture considerations across teams.
Mentor and develop engineers through feedback and leading by example.
