Affirm is redefining credit with a focus on honesty and consumer-friendly terms. We are building a new team to own search, recommendations and discovery experiences across our advertising platform and marketplace.

You will shape technical strategy, collaborate with product, design and analytics, and drive reliable, scalable backend systems at scale. The role requires extensive backend experience, proficiency with Python or Kotlin, and a track record delivering major features.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• Extensive track record of highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes.
• Experience delivering major features with a strong execution plan.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon.
• Collaborate across product, design and analytics to ensure technical sustainability and risk management.
• Own team operations, monitoring, on-call readiness and playbooks.
