You will lead across architectures, emphasizing reliability, availability and performance while mentoring teammates and advancing code quality.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes.
• Experience developing consumer experiences using UI frameworks like React.
• 2+ years of experience in search or related recommendation engines.
• Experience delivering major features or components with a clear technical plan and high-quality code.
• Comfort working across architectures from low-level language idioms to large systems.
• Growth trajectory showing feedback-driven improvement with cross-functional peers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with global teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long horizon.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics to ensure technical sustainability and risk management.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own team operations, monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies and on-call readiness.
• Establish code review and design standards and advocate them across teams.
• Develop talent by giving feedback and guidance and leading by example.
