Citi is seeking a Senior Backend Developer at the AVP level in Irving, TX, to design and implement scalable backend services within an integrated digital platform. You will work across product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

The role emphasizes secure, high-performance backend systems, SSO, and cloud-native practices, with collaboration across diverse teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of backend software development in enterprise platforms.
• Senior developer with significant technical contributions.
• Proficiency in modern Java backend programming and frameworks.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices architectures, and RESTful API design.
• Experience with identity and access management, including OAuth2/OpenID Connect.
• Cloud-native development with Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP/AWS.
• Knowledge of database technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to tackle ambiguity.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.
• Hands-on with Unix, caching solutions, and AI adoption.
• Knowledge of front-end integration: ReactJS, CSP, ADA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement backend services in the platform for scalable, secure solutions.
• Develop and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant services and APIs.
• Implement robust security measures including SSO and entitlements.
• Optimize systems with caching, async processing, and efficient data access.
• Integrate content provider apps via HTTPS-based interfaces.
• Lead root-cause analysis for critical backend issues.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and infra teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• Assess risk and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate standards.
