Job summary

Citi in Irving, Texas, seeks a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and deliver complex software applications within a high-performing Technology team. The role covers end-to-end development from architecture through deployment and support.

You will lead architecture activities, mentor peers, and ensure secure, scalable solutions. A hybrid model applies, with a focus on business-critical systems and modern engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software development or systems design delivering end-to-end solutions.
• Deep backend expertise with Java 17+, Spring, Spring Boot Microservices, Hibernate; strong Oracle PL/SQL knowledge.
• Experience producing design artefacts like architecture diagrams and UML activity/sequence diagrams.
• Practical experience with Agile methodologies and JIRA; ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver.
• Subject matter expert capable of guiding technical decisions and mentoring teammates.
• Proficient in Git and multi-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot Microservices.
• Build full-stack solutions with frontend interfaces (JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3) and integrated backend services.
• Lead architecture activities and produce design artefacts to guide development decisions.
• Manage all SDLC phases from feasibility through post-go-live support.
• Embed security practices and validate system functionality post-implementation.
• Drive code quality with automated tests using JUnit, Cucumber, Playwright.
• Act as technical authority for stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
