Job summary

Wonder is seeking a senior software engineer to contribute to scalable, reliable platform growth in New York. You will own delivery, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of applications, with emphasis on security, performance, and future evolution.

You will evaluate tools, technologies, frameworks, and vendors alongside senior teammates while building highly available distributed systems and observability into applications. Strong Java experience and cloud skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, programming or engineering.
• 5+ years building highly scalable consumer-facing apps.
• Experience with Java or other OO languages.
• Experience architecting fault-tolerant, performant software.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud (AWS).
• Automated testing experience for services (JUnit, Mockito, Gatling).

Responsibilities

• Develop highly scalable, reliable platform enhancements.
• Own delivery, deployment, maintenance and monitoring.
• Evaluate tools, technologies and vendors with senior team.
• Write performant, secure code and review peers.
• Help maintain tech debt backlog and suggest improvements.
