Advatix, Inc. is seeking a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer to scale large-scale infrastructure for conversational AI.

This remote, full-time role focuses on building core backend services in TS/Node.js and Python, and integrating LiveKit, Temporal, STT/TTS, and LLM tooling for real-time voice agents. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in backend/infrastructure with strong database and distributed systems experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ to 15 years of backend/infrastructure experience with strong database and distributed systems exposure.
• Contributed to storage or query layers of a database, queue, or large-scale data system recently.
• Deep expertise in Postgres, Redis, Kafka, or ClickHouse.
• Experience scaling distributed systems under real production workloads.
• Proficiency with TS/Node.js and Python.
• Cloud-native infra: AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes.
• Experience with Temporal or Cadence workflows.
• VC-backed startup experience preferred; strong ownership.
• Proven ability to prototype quickly and ship production solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement storage structures, query paths, and retrieval systems at scale.
• Scale simulation infrastructure from 30K to 200K+ concurrent calls with high uptime.
• Own core backend services using TypeScript/Node.js and Python.
• Build backends for LiveKit, Temporal, STT/TTS, and LLM tooling for real-time voice agents.
• Harden monitoring pipelines; ensure telemetry propagates across services at scale.
• Increase observability using OpenTelemetry, SigNoz, and trace-first practices.
• Improve system visibility and understand production behavior quickly.
• Ship small working elements rapidly; learn from production usage and iterate.
