Reddit is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build scalable systems for moderators and communities. You will collaborate with frontend, mobile teams, product and design to ship high-impact features for one of the world's largest sites.

You should have 5-8 years in software development with Go, Python, Rust or Ruby, experience designing APIs (GraphQL/REST/gRPC) and a BS in CS or equivalent. This role is remote-friendly within the United States and offers strong healthcare and retirement

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of software development experience with Go, Python, Rust or Ruby.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs using GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift or gRPC.
• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.
• Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and collaborative in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering to build novel features for moderators.
• Lead technical design, development, testing, experimentation, and launch.
• Review code, design docs, and provide feedback on product specs and mocks.
• Mentor engineers and drive improvement of developer workflows and standards.
