Machinify, a leading healthcare intelligence company, seeks a Staff/Senior Backend Engineer to steer backend design for Subrogation and COB lines. You will build scalable cloud-native services on AWS/GCP/Azure, review AI-assisted outputs, and guide a growing team. Strong Rust, Java, Go, or Scala experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience for Staff roles; 6+ for Senior roles.
• Strong design and architecture skills across complex backend systems.
• Experience with distributed systems and production-grade cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Set the architecture and technical direction for backend systems.
• Ship cloud-native services powering high-stakes payment- integrity decisions.
• Turn ambiguous product intent into concrete backend design.
• Own services in production with reliability, observability, and performance.
• Mentor engineers and raise the team’s Rust maturity.
• Partner with PM, ML/DS, QA and UX to shape product direction.
