SURGENT AI? SURT AI invites a Senior Backend Engineer to own the brain of our fraud-detection platform. You will craft high-performance Rust services, deploy via Lambda, and own infrastructure with Terraform, DynamoDB, and API Gateways. You will optimize for memory, latency, and clean interfaces between backend logic and frontend.

Lead efforts to raise Rust standards, review code, and mentor peers while shaping a scalable, observable backend stack in a modern cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Deep experience with ownership, lifetimes, and asynchronous programming in Rust.
• Experience with NoSQL DynamoDB and observability tooling.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform) is highly recommended.
• Design and implement robust REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Build the core Rust backend using Tokio and Lambda-based deployment.
• Architect infrastructure with Terraform, provisioning DynamoDB schemas, API Gateways and event pipelines.
• Profile memory usage and execution timing to minimize compute overhead.
• Define interfaces between backend logic and frontend REST APIs.
• Mentor teammates, establish coding standards and conduct code reviews to keep the brain scalable.
