Job summary

Quanata, LLC is a remote‑first insurance technology company hiring a Senior Back End Engineer. You will design, build, and maintain core services powering Quanata’s products and operations, integrating data and ML workflows to ensure performance, reliability, and security.

You will own complex features end‑to‑end, influence architecture, and mentor other engineers while collaborating across teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent)
• 6–8 years of backend or full‑stack engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of Go and at least one of Python, Ruby, TypeScript, or C#
• Experience designing high‑performance client/server systems
• Experience with databases and messaging systems
• Experience with cloud‑based infrastructure and CI/CD
• Knowledge of security principles and best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication, cross‑team collaboration
• Ability to mentor other engineers

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain client‑facing and internal APIs.
• Architect data flows across backend services and third‑party systems.
• Design and manage scalable database schemas and data storage.
• Lead complex feature development from concept to deployment.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks.
• Evaluate, integrate, and support third‑party tools and services.
• Improve system architecture, performance, observability, and security.
• Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing across the team
