Job summary

Quanata is a remote‑first insurance‑tech company delivering context‑based insurance solutions. We seek a Senior Back End Engineer to design, build, and maintain core services powering our products and operations. You’ll own complex features from design to deployment and mentor other engineers.

You’ll shape architecture, data flows, APIs, databases, and platform reliability while collaborating across teams to deliver high‑quality software in a flexible remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 6–8 years in backend or full‑stack software engineering roles.
• Proficient with Go and experience building services in Go/Python/TypeScript/C#/Ruby.
• Experience designing and deploying high‑performance client/server systems.
• Familiar with databases and messaging systems; evaluating suitable solutions.
• Experience with cloud infra and modern CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of security principles, testing, and engineering best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate cross‑functionally.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain client-facing and internal APIs.
• Architect data flows across backend services and third‑party systems.
• Design and manage scalable database schemas and storage.
• Lead feature design, development, and delivery from concept to deployment.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for quality.
• Evaluate, integrate, and support third‑party services and platforms.
• Improve system architecture, performance, observability, security, and reliability.
• Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
