Job summary

Virta Health seeks a Backend Engineer to build reliable systems and improve data accuracy across member, client, and operations workflows. You will automate processes critical to Virta’s care delivery and reporting.

The role emphasizes AI-augmented development and scalable Golang microservices. You will partner with data and AI teams to enhance data validation, automation, and anomaly detection while delivering client-facing APIs for seamless data exchange with customers.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of shipping backend code in a high quality production environment.
• Experience building microservices in production.
• Experience with data and event-based architectures (API, SQL/NoSQL, messaging).
• Experience with Golang.
• Experience with a cloud platform such as Google Cloud, AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong communication with business stakeholders (technical and non-technical).
• Champion of long-term thinking and delivering business impact without sacrificing quality.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance scalable Golang microservices to power eligibility, coverage, billing, and client-facing systems.
• Automate and streamline operational workflows, reducing manual data handling and improving data accuracy.
• Design and deliver self-service tools for finance, operations, and client teams to manage processes and configurations independently.
• Ensure data is accurate, consistent, and traceable for internal decision-making and external reporting.
• Collaborate with data and AI teams to apply AI to data validation, automation, and anomaly detection.
• Contribute to client-facing APIs enabling seamless data exchange with Virta's customers.
