Job summary

Virta Health Corp. is seeking a Backend Engineer to build and scale Golang microservices that support eligibility, coverage, billing, and client-facing systems.

You will automate workflows and ensure data accuracy across member and client data, enabling faster decision-making and reliable reporting. You will work with data and AI teams to explore AI-enabled data validation and process automation while contributing to API design for external partners.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of shipping backend code in a high quality production environment.
• Experience building microservices in production.
• Experience with data and event-based architectures (API development, SQL/NoSQL datastores, messaging queues, etc.).
• Experience with Golang.
• Experience with a cloud platform such as Google Cloud, AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance scalable Golang microservices to power eligibility, coverage, billing, and client-facing systems.
• Automate and streamline operational workflows, reducing manual data handling and improving data accuracy.
• Design and deliver self-service tools for finance, operations, and client teams.
• Ensure data is accurate, consistent, and traceable for internal decision-making and reporting.
• Collaborate with data and AI teams to apply AI to data validation and automation.
• Contribute to client-facing APIs enabling seamless data exchange with Virta's customers.
