Job summary

Offchain, a leader in Ethereum scalability, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a 100% remote role within the US. You will work on core infrastructure powering Arbitrum and tackle distributed systems challenges to enhance performance and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/related discipline; 5+ years in blockchain backend design
• Master's degree option with 3 years of relevant experience accepted in lieu of Bachelor +5
• 3+ years backend development using Go or Rust
• 3+ years experience with blockchain protocols and distributed systems
• 3+ years collaborating with research teams on blockchain tech
• 1 year WebAssembly experience in production environments
• 1 year cloud infra and containerization (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

• Work on core infrastructure powering Arbitrum, the leading Ethereum scaling solution
• Tackle distributed systems challenges, optimize performance, and improve security and scalability
• Collaborate with research, product, and blockchain engineering teams on cutting-edge tech
• Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to clients and internal stakeholders
• Maintain the Nitro Testnode product, adding enhancements and ensuring reliability
• Conduct peer code reviews to ensure code quality and architectural consistency
• Establish backend standards, tech stacks, and engineering best practices
• Design high-performance compiler pipelines and extensible SDK frameworks
• Coordinate with Security to identify threats and mitigate vulnerabilities
• Drive the technical roadmap with Product for distributed systems and data modeling
