Job summary

VulnCheck is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale core systems powering vulnerability intelligence. This is a high-impact, hands-on role with end-to-end ownership of services and data pipelines.

The position is fully remote, but candidates must reside in Massachusetts, Maryland, or Greater Austin, TX. You will shape architecture, improve performance, and deliver features that impact customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems as a software engineer.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java with strong API design skills.
• Experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or threat intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Own services end-to-end from architecture to deployment and operation.
• Lead design discussions and influence system architecture decisions.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code and advocate best practices.
• Debug production issues and implement long-term scalable solutions.
• Improve performance, reliability, and observability across the platform.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, and other Engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
• Participate in incident response and on-call rotations.
