Product Genius, Inc. is seeking a Backend Engineer for a fully remote role with its headquarters in Boston, MA. You will build and maintain the backend systems at the core of a real-time learning AI, focusing on APIs and data pipelines that connect live user and merchant behavior to learning models.

You will work with AI researchers and engineers with high autonomy to shape evolution of the architecture. This is a hands-on, AI-native engineering role that requires operator-level ownership, to

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production backend systems.
• Hands-on daily experience with agentic AI coding tools and managing multiple sessions.
• Experience building APIs and data pipelines connecting live systems to analytics or ML systems.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, TypeScript, and React.
• Ability to quickly understand a complex codebase and contribute.
• Strong collaboration and self-sufficiency in coding contexts.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain real-time learning engine components at the core of the business.
• Develop APIs and data pipelines linking live behavior to self-learning systems.
• Champion AI-assisted development, CI/CD, and QA practices.
• Own production incidents, diagnose root causes, and improve testing.
