Breathment is a Munich-based digital health startup revolutionizing pulmonary rehabilitation with a mobile app and remote clinician platform. We seek a senior Python backend engineer to own the ML-backed computer-vision pipeline, build the FastAPI services, and deploy on Kubernetes with GPU inference capabilities.

You will collaborate with product and clinical teams to translate requirements into scalable features, while ensuring robust tests and monitoring in a remote-friendly setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Python development with production REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, ideally MongoDB.
• Fluent Git and GitHub workflows; CI.
• Strong analytical, independent, remote-team work.
• Professional English; German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the computer-vision pipeline turning model output into counts and feedback.
• Design the reporting layer for clinical reports used by physiotherapists.
• Build and extend the Python backend (FastAPI, MongoDB, Redis).
• Ship to production on Kubernetes with GPU inference services and maintain tests/monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, physiotherapists and the mobile team to propose solutions.
