Job summary

Grafana Labs is hiring a Senior Engineer for Pyroscope, the open-source profiling database that powers Grafana Cloud. You will own meaningful projects end to end, shaping what the team builds next and driving performance and cost optimizations across the platform.

You will work in a fully remote role with exposure to engineers across Grafana Stack, focusing on ingestion, storage and query components, and bi-directional trace-to-profile correlations.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with a systems language.
• Distributed systems in production experience.
• Product sense and customer-facing collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end projects from concept to rollout, including design, delivery, operations, and customer follow-up.
• Design, build, and operate core components of a distributed database: ingestion, storage, and query with performance vs cost trade-offs.
• Wear the product hat: collaborate with customers and translate pain points into deliverables and roadmap guidance.
• Own outcomes with concrete SLOs and cost targets; automate to reduce toil and improve reliability.
• Partner across Grafana: work with App Observability, Alloy, Tempo, and Databases squads to make profiles useful everywhere.
• Support teammates through design discussions, code reviews, and pairing in a fully remote setup.
