Higher Logic is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Backend / PHP) to join our engineering team. You’ll own meaningful backend features, scale core systems, and collaborate with product, QA, and other engineers to deliver reliable solutions for millions of users.

You’ll work in an AI-forward environment, using modern development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality, security, and maintainability across a large, mature application with complex integrations.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with production web applications at scale.
• Experience designing and working with APIs in complex systems.
• Strong security awareness and best practices.
• Experience using AI coding tools in daily development.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and ship features in a multidisciplinary Agile team.
• Design and evolve backend systems that support large-scale communities.
• Work across core layers, APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities.
• Write reliable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Triagе, debug, and resolve production issues with cross-team collaboration.
• Improve architecture, coding standards, tooling, and documentation.
• Engage in cross-team discussions to strengthen backend practices.
