ERGO NEXT Insurance in Waltham, MA, is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to design and implement scalable services. You’ll work with Java/Kotlin, own features from concept to production, and collaborate with product, marketing, and frontend teams in a hybrid environment.

You’ll leverage AI tools to boost productivity, build in AWS-based cloud environments, and contribute to the Payments & Partnerships domain. A B.Sc.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of OOP concepts and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with distributed, cloud-based environments; AWS experience is a plus.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Adaptable, quick learner in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, marketing, and frontend engineers to iterate on the product.
• Own features from inception through design, coding, and production release with high quality and test coverage.
• Leverage AI and LLM-powered tools to boost developer productivity and experimentation.
