Job summary

ERGO NEXT Insurance is seeking a Backend Software Engineer in Waltham, MA. You will work with the latest backend technologies, mainly server-side Kotlin, and own the Agents Channel domain with frequent production releases.

Responsibilities include collaborating across product, marketing and engineering teams to iterate on solutions, owning features end-to-end, and using AI tooling to boost development productivity in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• At least 6+ years of backend development experience in Java/Kotlin or similar languages (Python, .NET).
• A B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
• Strong knowledge of OOP concepts and best practices.
• Hands-on development of distributed, cloud-based environments; AWS experience is a plus.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Adaptable, quick learner with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, marketing, and frontend teams to iterate quickly.
• Own features from inception through design, coding, and production delivery with high quality and test coverage.
• Leverage AI and LLM tools to improve developer productivity and experimentation.
