Job summary

Electronic Transaction Consultants Corporation is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to design, build, and operate the core tolling and payments platform. You will own services end‑to‑end from design to production, and Staff level will lead cross‑team technical initiatives shaping architecture across services.

Qualifications

• BS in CS, software engineering, or equivalent.
• Senior level: 5+ years; Staff level: 8+ years with cross-team leadership.
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed backend systems.
• Cloud platforms and Kubernetes deployment; code‑first CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Payments/financial systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design event‑driven, microservices for a multi‑tenant SaaS platform, including API contracts (GraphQL/REST).
• Build high‑throughput, low‑latency transaction services in a modern language (Rust/Go/Kotlin/Java).
• Implement event sourcing with an event‑streaming backbone (NATS/Kafka) with idempotent guarantees.
• Contribute to TypeScript front ends and shared SDKs in a monorepo.
• Write tests and drive architecture reviews; mentor engineers; lead cross‑team initiatives.
