Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Retail DEX team. You will work on data and trading systems powering onchain trading within the Coinbase app, spanning off-chain and onchain components to deliver a seamless experience.

You will integrate blockchains, design onchain primitives, and scale real-time data pipelines, while improving execution quality and asset coverage for DEX traders, with emphasis on agentic-first development and responsible AI usage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend experience building data-intensive systems in production.
• Experience designing data pipelines and data infrastructure.
• Hands-on work with onchain smart contracts (EVM/Base or Solana).
• Experience iterating on agentic-first codebases in production.
• Responsible use of generative AI to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Integrate blockchains, DEXs, and launchpads into the Coinbase app.
• Design and implement first-party onchain trading primitives.
• Scale real-time data pipelines to 100K+ messages/sec with millisecond latency.
• Optimize the trading stack end-to-end for fast, accurate execution.
• Contribute to agentic-first tooling to accelerate team velocity.
