Job summary

Fanatics Core is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for backend services built in Kotlin/Java. You will design, test, deploy, and maintain scalable systems powering the Fanatics App and partner experiences, working closely with product teams.

The role emphasizes mentoring, code reviews, observability, and on-call rotations, with travel to Fanatics offices as needed. Strong background in distributed systems and modern architectures is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building highly scalable backend distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Spring with Kotlin and/or Java.
• Experience driving best practices in backend development and mentoring others.
• Knowledge of observability: logging, monitoring, tracing.
• Experience with Agile delivery and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication and team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, document, and deploy high quality backend software.
• Build features and tools used by the team.
