SumUp invites a senior backend engineer to own end-to-end backend services for the Cards EU domain, including observability, testing, and production support. You will drive architecture discussions, mentor peers, and partner with adjacent squads and product managers to shape the roadmap.

You will work on distributed systems, API design, data modeling, and relational databases on a modern cloud-native stack. Expect on-call rotation and a focus on scalable, maintainable solutions.

• Proven track record delivering production-ready backend services end-to-end.

Responsabilidades

• Own end-to-end delivery of backend services within Cards EU domain.
• Lead architectural discussions and shape the technical roadmap for distributed systems.
• Partner with engineers and product manager to refine squad backlog.
• Mentor engineers through code and design reviews to raise engineering standards.
• Participate in incident reviews and on-call rotation ensuring service reliability.
• Apply AI tooling to accelerate engineering workflows and raise AI literacy.
