Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead EU card architecture and delivery.

You will drive backend systems at scale using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes while collaborating across product, design and analytics to ensure robust, scalable solutions. You will partner with EU teams in Spain and Poland, shaping technical strategy, code quality and operational readiness, while maintaining strong cross‑functional communication.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Proficient in designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale with Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in developing frontend applications.
• Experience delivering major features or components with a clear technical plan.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long horizon.
• Lead software engineer for all cards in the EU.
• Collaborate with product, design and analytics across the lifecycle.
