Job summary

Dashdevs is seeking a Senior Kotlin Backend Engineer to join an outsourced team on a FinTech project focused on financial management and banking integrations. The product is in production, emphasizing reliability and scalable services.

You will collaborate with a client team, design API contracts, and ensure robust data processing, reconciliation, and secure handling of sensitive financial data within an event-driven architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development with production Kotlin/JVM experience.
• Strong experience with REST APIs and maintainable service design.
• Strong SQL and data modeling, with focus on performance.

Responsibilities

• Extend Kotlin Backend-for-Frontend layer with new APIs and business logic.
• Design REST APIs contract-first using OpenAPI.
• Integrate new features into existing architecture without breaking current behavior.
• Support integration between Kotlin services, TypeScript/NestJS, and external systems.
• Develop transaction-processing and reconciliation workflows with proper concurrency handling.
• Implement event-driven communication and scheduled/async workflows.
• Ensure data consistency across APIs, services, and analytics.
• Implement tenant-aware authorization and access control.
• Improve observability with logging, metrics, health checks and alerts.
