• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience in Python or Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases.
• Experience with distributed systems and scalable architecture.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; async collaboration.
• Cross-functional work with Product, Analytics and other teams.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers.

Responsibilities

• Write backend code in Kotlin or Python with quality standards for affirm Card product.
• Design system and contribute to implementation.
• Work cross functionally with Product, Analytics and other engineering teams across affirm to set and execute our Card strategy.
• Build APIs and data models for service-oriented and event-driven architectures.
• Participate in on-call processes to support team growth and reduce toil.
