Job summary

Vanta is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Test Core team. You will own complex backend initiatives, design APIs and data models, and drive reliability and performance of the Tests runtime. You’ll mentor engineers and shape technical direction while enabling growth across the platform.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and operating reliable, scalable backend systems in production.
• Independently delivered complex technical projects where the problem or solution wasn’t always well defined.
• Strong systems thinking and fundamentals in backend design, APIs, and data modeling.
• Excellent debugging skills across complex systems and ability to reason about correctness, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Own complex projects from discovery through design, rollout, and operation.
• Design and evolve backend systems, APIs, and data models used to run Tests and process results.
• Improve reliability, correctness, performance, and observability of the Tests runtime.
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable solutions.
• Simplify systems and improve interfaces for other engineers to build on.
