OnX is seeking a Backend Engineer to build reliable, well-tested backend services powering Growth Infrastructure across Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, and Fish. You will contribute as a core backend engineer, reporting to the Growth Infrastructure Engineering Manager, and help scale content experimentation, event tracking, and app-start fidelity.

This hybrid role requires 5+ years of API-focused software development, a CS/CE degree, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, primarily in API development.
• Permanent US work authorization is required.
• Ability to travel quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or Basecamp location.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain scalable backend services for Growth Infrastructure initiatives (content experimentation, event tracking).
• Write unit, integration, and acceptance tests.
• Participate in architectural discussions and propose service designs.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and cross-functional stakeholders (mobile, BI, marketing).
• Leverage existing onX services and AI workflows to increase velocity while preserving quality.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support backend services.
