Job summary

onX is seeking a Backend Engineer to build reliable backend services behind content experimentation, event tracking, and app-start fidelity. You’ll join the Growth Infrastructure team and support multiple verticals, contributing to scalable platform infrastructure used across Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, and Fish.

You’ll work with Go, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, collaborating with engineers, PMs, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/CE or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, primarily in API development.
• Familiarity with Go or similar backend languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend services for Growth Infrastructure.
• Write unit, integration, and acceptance tests.
• Contribute design proposals and participate in architectural discussions.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and cross-functional teams (mobile, BI, marketing).
• Leverage existing onX services and AI workflows to increase velocity while maintaining quality.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support backend services.
