Job summary

ClickHouse, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to build a scalable observability platform in a remote, globally distributed team. You will own backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that empower developers to monitor and debug at petabyte scale.

You’ll work with TypeScript/Node.js, Express/Fastify, and occasional Go, contributing to containerized microservices with Docker and Kubernetes, while aligning with open source community feedback.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills (Express, Fastify, or similar frameworks).
• Solid understanding of API design and distributed systems.
• Experience with Go is a plus—occasionally contribute to Go-based services.
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Own and build key backend services and infrastructure powering our observability platform.
• Collaborate with open-source contributors and customers to solve challenges and shape API design.
• Design scalable backend systems to ingest, process, and query petabytes of observability data.
