Job summary

Remitly is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build the product backbone powering Remitly Business. You will design backend services, APIs, and durable money-movement workflows in Go, orchestrate long-running flows on Temporal, and collaborate across cross-functional teams in a hybrid Seattle office.

You’ll work with AI-assisted development, maintain security and reliability, and help shape roadmaps while growing the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years building backend services in a collaborative team.
• Strong Go or Java/C#/Kotlin experience and willingness to embrace Go.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship backend features — services, APIs, data models, durable workflows.
• Build money-movement flows at scale on Temporal with proper ledgering and reconciliation.
• Apply AI-assisted, spec-driven development to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality.
• Set technical standards for testability, resilience, and scalability.
• Collaborate across Product, Design, Analytics, Compliance, and Infra.
