Job summary

GenomicMD is seeking a mid-level to senior Software Engineer to build and operate the software platform behind our clinical genomics products.

This highly autonomous role covers backend-focused work on a cloud-native stack, with opportunities to contribute across the full stack and infrastructure. The position supports remote work; candidates in the United States, especially near Chicago, are preferred for in-person collaboration.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend experience in Java or a similar strongly typed language.
• Experience designing and working with relational databases.
• Understanding APIs, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience debugging and operating production systems.
• Familiarity with containers and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and own projects end-to-end.
• Strong problem-solving and initiative to learn unfamiliar systems.
• Good technical judgment and communication skills.

Responsibilities
