Placements24 is seeking a talented Data Scientist specializing in Bioinformatics to join our fully remote research team. You will analyze complex biological datasets, uncover insights, and develop predictive models that drive our research iterations forward.

You will translate large-scale omics data into actionable biological understanding, collaborating with computational biologists and domain experts in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, CS, Statistics or related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience in data analysis and modeling with biological data.
• Proficiency in Python or R and libraries Pandas, Scikit-learn, Biopython.
• Solid understanding of statistical genetics, ML algorithms, and biological pathways.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and Git.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced statistical and ML models for large-scale genomic/proteomic data.
• Design and manage databases for biological data with data integrity.
• Collaborate with research scientists to interpret results and form hypotheses.
• Create data visualizations and reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay updated on bioinformatics and data science methodologies.
