Autopilot is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join as an early engineer. You will design, build, and scale backend systems powering a trading platform, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

This hands-on role reports to the engineering leadership and shapes the future of fintech infrastructure. Ideal candidates have 5–7+ years in backend engineering, strong TypeScript skills, and experience with cloud platforms like GCP.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of backend experience, preferably in a fast-paced startup.
• Strong TypeScript backend development.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and distributed systems.
• Proven track record building and scaling backend services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems powering the trading platform.
• Lead development of the pilot portal for data input, persistence, and broker integration.
• Reverse-engineer undocumented APIs and implement distributed, scalable systems.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Drive hands-on impact in a fast-growing fintech company.
