Job summary

Opto is building the future of private markets with a scalable, end-to-end platform. As a Software Engineer, you will transform complex business problems into elegant software, owning end-to-end solutions and collaborating across a modern stack: Typescript/React frontends, Python FastAPI services, and AWS Lambda.

We deploy frequently, emphasize modularity and service ownership, and recruit top talent. You’ll contribute across the full development lifecycle, design robust APIs, tackle data

Qualifications

• 4-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Interest or background in investment fintech or financial data.
• Proficiency in Python, REST APIs, SQL; familiarity with Typescript/React and AWS.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems design and data modelling.
• Experience with testing and delivery practices (pytest, CI/CD).
• Experience applying AI/LLMs to data extraction and document generation.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup and communicate clearly.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of high-quality software projects with teammates and stakeholders.
• Contribute to all phases of product development—from specs to deployment and operations.
• Seek context and rapidly iterate to remove ambiguity and move projects forward.
• Participate in engineering recruiting (interviewing, problem specs, role ownership).
• Reach out to stakeholders to unblock progress when needed.
