Job summary

AngelList is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the financial infrastructure behind private markets. You will own ledger, bank and payment integrations, KYC, and secure PII storage, delivering end-to-end solutions with high correctness and auditability.

You’ll work in a startup-friendly environment, pairing rigor with speed, and you’ll help guide product teams and Compliance/Risk across the platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend or full-stack systems with dependable services used by others.
• Senior-level impact: ownership of significant systems or features from design to operation.
• Experience with financial systems, payments, ledgers, or banking/KYC integrations is valued.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core Foundations systems (ledger, bank and payment integrations, KYC, secure PII storage).
• Own parts of systems end to end and handle difficult problems from design through rollout and on-call operations.
• Model complex financial/identity domains in relational data and define service contracts and APIs for Product teams.
• Ensure correctness, auditability, security, and reliability; anticipate failures before incidents occur.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design feedback; collaborate with Product and Compliance/Risk teams.
