Job summary

AngelList is recruiting a Senior Software Engineer to build the Nova Foundations payments and banking infrastructure. You will own core ledger, bank and KYC integrations, and PII storage, delivering reliable money movement for private markets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend or full‑stack systems with critical dependencies.
• Experience in financial systems, payments, ledgers, or KYC integrations.
• Strong data modeling skills for complex domains.
• Ruby on Rails experience or ability to ramp quickly.
• Background in fintech infrastructure and regulated environments.
• Familiarity with gRPC/protobuf and event‑driven patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core Foundations systems (ledger, payments, KYC, PII handling).
• Own end‑to‑end parts of critical money movement and identity services.
• Translate complex financial rules into robust service contracts and APIs.
• Ensure correctness, security, auditability, and reliability.
• Provide thoughtful code reviews and mentor other engineers.
