Job summary

Resend is growing and hiring a backend engineer to own features end-to-end, build reliable distributed systems, and scale APIs and databases. Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in production backend systems.
• Experience with queues, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
• Ability to design systems from scratch and plan rollout.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and observability.
• Experience designing APIs and relational data models.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform or AWS CDK).
• Comfortable across the stack to deliver full product experiences.
• Strong written and spoken English, overlap with Americas hours.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end from idea to APIs, dashboards, and services behind them.
• Build reliable distributed systems with queues and background workers.
• Scale APIs and databases as usage grows.
• Operate what you build with monitoring and on-call rotation.
• Work with support and customers to turn problems into product improvements.
• Improve engineering quality through tests and tooling.
