refurbed is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design and implement scalable backend services powering the mobile app and marketplace. You will ensure API quality, performance, and reliability while guiding backend decisions across squads.

Join a remote-first, Europe-based team with Go, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Node.js/TypeScript, React Native, and Vue.js. You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing and building scalable backend services in production.
• Strong proficiency in Go and distributed systems; familiarity with microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core APIs and backend services for the app and marketplace.
• Own operations and monitoring of production systems.
• Review backend designs and API changes to ensure mobile app compatibility.
• Integrate third-party systems and APIs into the platform.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering culture.
